Key design considerations for affordable housing
Developers must follow two key design principles: integrated affordable housing pepper-potted throughout the development, and tenure-blind design. The design approach should be considered from the outset and aligned with early discussions on affordable housing need.
The design approach should be a consideration from the outset and should be closely aligned with discussions on affordable housing need at an early stage. There are two key design principles that developers must adhere to in accordance with Policy HOU5:
• Integrated affordable housing, pepper-potted throughout the development; and
• Tenure-blind design.
