Assessment of development proposals and landscape impact

The council will assess new development to ensure it does not have an unacceptable effect on the landscape resource, either directly, indirectly, or cumulatively, including designated landscapes with scenic, natural heritage, built heritage or cultural value.

In assessing new development proposals, the council will seek to ensure the protection and enhancement of the district's landscape resource. New development should not have an unacceptable effect, either directly, indirectly, or cumulatively, on the landscape resource, including landscapes that are designated for scenic, natural heritage, built heritage or cultural value.
