Local Landscape Policy Areas definition and scope
Local Landscape Policy Areas comprise features and areas within and adjoining settlements that are of greatest amenity value, landscape quality or local significance, including archaeological sites, listed buildings, river banks, vistas, hills, woodlands and nature conservation areas.
These comprise those features and areas within and adjoining the settlements of our Borough considered to be of greatest amenity value, landscape quality or local significance and therefore worthy of protection from undesirable or damaging development. They may include:
(a) Archaeological sites and monuments and their surroundings;
(b) Listed and other locally important buildings and their surroundings;
(c) River banks and shorelines and associated public access;
(d) Attractive vistas, localised hills and other areas of local amenity importance;
(e) Areas of local nature conservation interest, including areas of woodland and important tree groups; and
