Housing Supply Analysis in Local Context

The local context section must examine housing supply trends to determine available supply by tenure, property characteristics, housing stock condition, voids, renovation activity, and specific housing-related issues.

An understanding of housing supply is also considered necessary if an informed local HNA is to be carried out and the local context section will examine trends in order to determine: • the available supply of housing in relation to the various tenures; • property characteristics; • the condition of the housing stock; • voids or land surpluses; • renovation grant activity; • local housing strategies; • estate renewal strategies; • URAs; • economic appraisals; • rural initiatives; and • specific housing stock related issues e.g. anti social behaviour, migrant workers or concentrations of houses in multiple occupation.
