Regional Housing Market Assessment Purpose and Content
The Regional Housing Market Assessment must establish the regional housing context by setting out socio-economic, demographic, and housing supply/demand issues affecting different parts of the region, informed by Government policy priorities, NIHE Corporate Plan, housing market review, and relevant RDS planning issues.
Before proceeding to assessment of individual aspects of need, the HNA report will clearly establish the regional housing context. The purpose of the Regional Housing Market analysis is to set out an overarching picture of the way socio-economic, political, demographic and housing supply/demand issues are operating in the Region. It will also set out the different concerns and priorities as they impact on different parts of the Region or plan area. DOE Planning Service will produce a draft narrative outlining the regional context for inclusion into the HNA. This will be updated annually and it will incorporate relevant issues from the NIHE Corporate Plan and the Review of the Northern Ireland Housing Market. It will also include relevant planning issues arising from the RDS. It will establish a perspective for housing within overall Government policy and priorities.
