Regional Scale Landfill Location and Access
Regional scale landfill or land raising sites must be located close to key transport corridors and should use alternative transport modes such as rail or water where possible, with stringent containment measures required for water transport.
The location of regional scale landfill or land raising sites must closely relate to and allow for easy access to key transport corridors and, where possible, should make use of the alternative transport modes of rail and water. Transport by water may require particularly stringent containment measures, to avoid the risk of accidentally contaminating the water system involved.
