Strategic Planning Policy Statement – Sustainable Development Framework
Councils must secure orderly development whilst furthering sustainable development and balancing social and economic priorities alongside careful management of the built and natural environments.
The Council is required by the Strategic Planning Policy Statement (SPPS) for Northern Ireland to secure the orderly and consistent development of land whilst furthering sustainable development and improving well-being, simultaneously pursuing social and economic priorities alongside the careful management of the built and natural environments for the overall benefit of society.
