Design of Housing Schemes - General Considerations

Affordable housing is typically delivered as part of mixed-tenure schemes and must comply with general housing design requirements, including submission of a Design and Access Statement under Policy SP 6.

It is important to note that in most cases, affordable housing will be delivered as part of a wider mixed-tenure housing scheme and therefore applicants should consider general design considerations for housing. Particular attention is drawn to the Placemaking and Good Design section of the Plan Strategy and the requirement under policy SP 6: Placemaking and Good Design, to submit a 'Design and Access Statement'.
