Proportion of Affordable Housing Units

A minimum of 10% of units must be provided as affordable housing. Fractions are rounded to the nearest whole unit (0.5 or more rounds up; 0.4 or less rounds down).

Policy DM 17, when triggered by the threshold, requires a minimum of 10% of units to be provided as affordable housing. E.g. A 40 unit housing proposal = 4 affordable housing units to be provided. Where 10% of the total number of units would result in a fraction of a unit, this should be rounded to the nearest whole unit, i.e. where the calculation would equate to 0.4 or less, this should be rounded down and where it would equate to 0.5 or more, it should be rounded up.
