PAD Process Benefits and Validity Period
Early engagement in the PAD process can prevent delays to planning applications. NIHE written responses to PADs are valid for one year, after which updated advice should be sought.
It is in the applicant's interest to engage in the PAD process so as not to cause any unnecessary delays to the processing of a planning application. Advice given through the PAD will be without prejudice and current at the date of the PAD. The applicant should be aware that the advice might change, for example, if there is a subsequent change in housing need. NIHE written responses to PADs are valid for one year, after which updated advice should be sought.
