SPPS Design Quality Requirements

Poor design should be rejected, particularly proposals that are inappropriate to their context, out of scale, or incompatible with surroundings. Development of poor design quality should be resisted.

The SPPS states that poor design should be rejected, particularly proposals that are inappropriate to their context, including schemes that are clearly out of scale, or incompatible with their surroundings. To this end, the councils placemaking and urban design SPG supports the SPPS in resisting poor design, particularly development which is of poor design quality.
