Material palette and design response to historic context
Tall buildings should respond to their historic context through careful selection of materials and architectural detailing, such as the use of traditional materials with depth and layering that echoes neighbouring historic buildings.
The Peter Froggatt Centre utilises a restricted material palette (red clay brickwork, glazed screens and bronze anodised panels) which respond to historic context. Deep brick reveals and extended curtain wall capping pieces provide a depth and layering which echoes its Victorian neighbours.
