Policy DM 17 Threshold and Scope
Affordable housing policy requirements apply to housing developments and mixed-use developments with housing of 40 units or more, including redevelopment, conversions and subdivisions. The policy covers general needs housing only and excludes specialist accommodation like residential/nursing homes and purpose-built student accommodation.
The requirements of Policy DM 17.3, DM 17.4 and DM 17.5 will apply to proposals for housing development and mixed use development that incorporate an element of housing, together with proposals for redevelopment, conversions and subdivisions of existing buildings, where the number of dwellings to be created is 40 units or more.
The policy applies to general needs housing only, it does not apply to proposals for specialist types of accommodation, like residential or nursing homes, or for purpose built student accommodation.
