Adaptable and connected public realm - overview
The public realm should be designed with quality and flexibility to accommodate multiple uses and activities, encouraging social interaction, community cohesion, and inclusion.
The quality of public realm plays a central role in creating well connected, safe and enjoyable environments. When designed to accommodate a number of uses and encourage a variety of activities, the public realm can encourage social interactions between people and contribute to a feeling of inclusion and community cohesion.
