Local Policies Plan Approach to Affordable Housing
The Local Policies Plan may zone land specifically for affordable housing or attach Key Site Requirements to general housing zonings to require a percentage of the site to be provided as affordable housing where the Council considers a higher proportion necessary in specific locations.
Where the Council considers it necessary to provide a higher proportion of affordable housing in a specific location, policy DM 17 may also be supported through the Local Policies Plan, by the zoning of land specifically for affordable housing and/or the attachment of Key Site Requirements to general housing zonings for a percentage of the site to be provided as affordable housing.
