Front extensions - circumstances where more acceptable

Front extensions may be more acceptable where they are single storey, the street does not follow a regular pattern, the property is well set back, the extension is sympathetic to the host property, and it will not harm local character.

While there is a general presumption against extensions at the front of a property, front extensions are more likely to be acceptable where: i. The proposal is for a single storey; ii. The street does not follow a regular pattern; iii. The host property is well set back from the street; iv. The proposal is sympathetic to the host property; and v. The proposal will not harm local character.
