Private open space provision
Residential developments must provide adequate private outdoor space such as gardens, patios, balconies or terraces to support resident wellbeing. A variety of garden sizes and usable open spaces should be included to promote diversity and choice for residents.
Outdoor space which can be enjoyed by residents in private is a major contributor to the wellbeing of its users. A variety of garden sizes and usable open spaces will promote diversity and give greater choice for potential residents. Adequate provision for private open space should be made in the form of gardens, patios, balconies or terraces, depending on the characteristics of the development proposed and the surrounding context.
