Housing proposals in Conservation Areas and Areas of Townscape Character must prioritize protection of existing character and distinctive qualities, with particular care taken to avoid negative impacts on listed buildings within and outside these areas.

In assessing housing proposals in Conservation Areas and Areas of Townscape Character, the protection of the existing character and distinctive qualities of the area will be paramount.
