Density - Site Characteristics and Development Requirements

Development density should be influenced by site characteristics, existing features, vegetation, open space requirements, and social housing needs. Large sites should incorporate a range of densities, building forms, and house types to enhance quality and sustainability.

Site characteristics, the need to preserve existing site features and vegetation, space requirements for the provision of open spaces and specific needs within social housing will all influence development densities. On large sites a range of densities, building forms and a mix of house types will be required to help enhance quality and sustainability.
