SPPS - Sustainable Design and Landscape Considerations

Design should minimize energy, water usage, and CO2 emissions, support future-proofing for modern technology, and incorporate landscape design and planting for biodiversity.

In addition, the SPPS recognises that design should encompass how buildings and places function in use and over the lifetime of a development, including how the design of a development can minimise energy, water usage and CO2 emissions. It encourages future proofing developments for modern technology which can help minimise the need for expensive retrofitting and it recognises that landscape design and planting considerations are also an integral part of design and can contribute to biodiversity.
