SPPS - Environmental and Amenity Considerations
Development should consider amenity impacts including design, visual intrusion, nuisance, loss of light, and overshadowing, which may affect health and well-being.
The SPPS also acknowledges that there are a wide range of environment and amenity considerations which should be taken into account by planning authorities when proposing policies or managing development. It states that amenity considerations arising from development, that may have potential health and wellbeing implications, include design considerations, impacts relating to visual intrusion, general nuisance, loss of light and overshadowing.
