Design Principles for Residential Development

New residential development and conversions must be balanced against impacts on neighbouring amenity and character of the neighbourhood, and should be adaptable and accessible to meet the needs of all users throughout different stages of life.

It is important that new residential development and/or conversions or subdivisions of existing buildings for residential use are balanced against consideration of the impact of such works on neighbouring amenity and the character and appearance of the neighbourhood and immediate surroundings. In addition, it is important that new residential development is adaptable and accessible to meet the accommodation of needs of all users throughout different stages of life.
