Heritage Building Conversion Costs

Additional costs for incorporating heritage buildings into new schemes, specialist construction skills, and retrofitting for energy efficiency may be considered in viability assessments, but developers should account for these when agreeing purchase prices.

The Council accept that in any of these circumstances there are likely to be additional costs to be considered in a viability assessment. However, where such land/buildings have been purchased for redevelopment, such costs should have been accounted for by a developer when agreeing an appropriate purchase price.
