Flexibility and Priority for Alternative Affordable Housing Provision
The Council will consider each application on its merits and aim to be flexible in agreeing alternatives to affordable housing requirements. The primary objective is to secure the maximum viable number of affordable housing units on-site as part of mixed tenure development, with preferences outlined in Section 3.3.
Each application will be considered on its merits and, where relevant, the Council will aim to be flexible in terms of agreeing suitable alternatives to the affordable housing requirement. However, in accordance with the wording of the policy, the Council's over-riding aim when considering the suitability of alternative affordable housing provision is to secure the maximum viable number of affordable housing units on-site as part of mixed tenure development. As outlined in Section 3.3, preference will be given to potential alternative products as follows:
