Scale, proportion and balance requirements

Extensions or alterations should not dominate the host property or surroundings; they should be in scale with existing and adjoining buildings with appropriate proportion and balance, and generally smaller in height, width and size than the original building.

An extension or alteration should not be so large or so prominent as to dominate the host property or its wider surroundings, rather development proposals should be in scale with existing and adjoining buildings.
