Sustainable and balanced communities through mixed tenure
Mixed tenure communities support sustainable neighbourhoods by promoting community cohesion, belonging, and requiring both appropriate mix of property types and sizes alongside tenure diversity.
Nurturing sustainable and balanced communities is a fundamental aim of the LDP's housing policies. This is to be achieved in part through mixed tenure communities, which also help to promote community cohesion, create a feeling of belonging and contribute to the development of sustainable neighbourhoods. The need for the right type and size of accommodation is just as important as ensuring an appropriate mix of tenures.
