Council Decision on Affordable Housing Mix
The Council as planning authority makes the final decision on the appropriate mix of affordable housing to meet identified need, taking a collaborative approach with relevant parties and using the framework in Appendix 3.
While NIHE will provide up-to-date housing need advice at various stages in the planning process, the final decision on the best mix of housing to meet identified need will fall to the Council as the planning authority. However, the Council will take a collaborative approach to determining this in partnership with all the relevant parties, and based on the framework for the consideration of an appropriate mix of affordable housing products in Appendix 3.
