Currency of NIHE Housing Need Advice

Advice from NIHE on affordable housing is current only at the date given; applicants should be aware it may change if policy or housing need evidence changes. Applications submitted more than 12 months after receiving pre-application advice should re-consult NIHE to ensure advice remains valid.

It should be noted that any advice given by NIHE will be current at the date at which it is given. An applicant should be aware that such advice given might change throughout the process if, for example, the policy context or evidence of housing need changes. If an application is submitted more than 12 months after pre-application advice is given, that advice may no longer be relevant. In such cases, it is advisable for an applicant to re-consult NIHE, via a RHA, to ensure advice is still valid. The Council will also consult NIHE as part of the planning application process to ensure that advice relied upon by all parties remains valid.
