Mix of affordable housing - NIHE advice on tenure balance

NIHE will provide up to date advice on the level of affordable housing need/demand on a case-by-case basis via a RHA. Different methodologies are followed by NIHE depending on whether determining social housing need as determined by levels of housing stress in the area and the level of likely demand for intermediate housing. Where there is a pressing requirement for both social and intermediate housing, NIHE will advise the Council on the appropriate mix between these tenures as part of the affordable housing requirement.
