Tree Ownership and Management
The council owns and manages trees in public parks, playing fields, and council lands, and manages street trees across the city on behalf of the Department for Infrastructure. However, much of the tree and woodland resource is on private land including domestic gardens, private grounds, recreational facilities, and agricultural lands.
The council currently owns and manages many trees, including those in public parks, playing fields and other council lands. In addition, the council manages street trees across the city on behalf of the DfI. However, much of our tree/woodland resource is on private land, including in domestic gardens and private grounds, private recreational facilities and on agricultural lands.
