Countryside Development Justification
New development proposals in countryside locations must be justified, with the council ensuring they are acceptable in terms of environment and rural amenity, and that they could not be better located within settlement limits or on previously developed land.
Particular regard will be given to the justification for new development proposals in any countryside location and the council must be satisfied that the proposal is acceptable in terms of environment and rural amenity and would not be better located within settlement limits or where there is an opportunity to make use of previously developed (brownfield) land in the countryside.
