Exceptional circumstances for loss of green and blue infrastructure
In exceptional circumstances, proposals resulting in loss of green and blue infrastructure network elements may be acceptable if they bring other benefits, but developers must demonstrate the proposal will not detrimentally affect the overall network.
However, it is acknowledged that there may be exceptional circumstances where proposals that result in the loss of an element of the network or a potential link or improvement to it may be acceptable, taking account of other benefits that it might bring. Nevertheless, in such cases, the onus is on the developer to demonstrate that this will not result in detriment to the overall green and blue infrastructure network.
