The council will also require development to address the following: a. Existing land contamination and ensuring development does not cause contaminated land or pollute water; b. Local air quality, particularly nitrogen dioxide and particulates (including in air quality management areas); c. Protection of the city's designated quiet areas and quiet times of day for businesses (daytime) and residents (night time); and d. The need to limit the city's contribution to light spillage and 'sky glow'.
