Sustainable transport patterns and active travel priorities
The plan aims to deliver development patterns that reduce reliance on motorised transport and prioritise active travel and public transport over private cars. It also commits to protecting transport routes and facilitating modal shift to sustainable travel modes.
Deliver sustainable patterns of development which reduce the need for motorised transport and prioritise active travel and travel by public transport in preference to the private car;
Protect routes and land required for enhancing the existing transport network and delivering future transport schemes; and
Facilitate active travel and a modal change to more sustainable modes of travel throughout the city.
