Development near wastewater treatment works - amenity protection
Planning applications for development near wastewater treatment works (WWTWs) will not be approved if there would be loss of amenity from odour nuisance. The potential adverse impact of existing or approved infrastructure on neighbouring land uses is a material consideration.
In relation to development proposed in the vicinity of WWTW's the potential adverse impact of existing or approved infrastructure upon neighbouring land uses will be a material consideration in the determination of planning applications for the development of that land. In particular, planning applications involving land within the vicinity of WWTWs will not be approved where there would be a loss of amenity from odour nuisance.
