Remediation and Mitigation of Contaminated Sites
Where contamination is confirmed, developers must identify suitable remediation and mitigation measures to prevent adverse impacts on amenity, human health, and the environment. The Council will normally attach conditions to planning approval to ensure remediation is carried out.
Where a site proves to be contaminated, suitable remediation and mitigation measures must be identified to prevent potential adverse impacts of the development on local amenity, human health and the quality of the environment. The Council will normally attach conditions to the grant of any planning approval to ensure that remediation measures are carried out prior to, or as part of the development.
