Water infrastructure development and sustainable technologies
Water, sewerage and drainage infrastructure investment and enhancement is essential for accommodating current and future growth, supporting development, tourism, and inward investment. New technologies and sustainable design can reduce water consumption and environmental impacts.
The development and enhancement of the water and sewerage infrastructure is essential for accommodating current needs and, indeed, future growth. Adequate investment in water, sewerage and drainage and long term investment plans to encourage the delivery of sustainable initiatives are key factors in facilitating new development, promoting tourism and attracting inward investment to the region. The promotion of new technologies and delivery of sustainable initiatives in the design of future development can contribute towards a decrease in water consumption and carry additional environmental benefits in lessening energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.
