Policy RET2 – Out of centre development
Proposals for main town centre uses outside existing centres must demonstrate no sequentially preferable site exists in or on the edge of centres, and retail/need assessments are required for developments of 1,000 m² gross floorspace or above.
Proposals for main town centre uses15, outside of existing centres must:
a. Demonstrate that there is not a sequentially preferable site in, or on the edge of, centres having regard to criteria of suitability, availability and viability; and
b. Submit a retail impact assessment and assessment of need for proposals that have a floorspace of 1,000 m² gross and above.
