Role of neighbourhood centres in sustainable development
New local neighbourhood centres support sustainable development by enabling pedestrian accessibility and public transport connectivity, reducing car travel, and fostering economic regeneration and community social interaction in local areas.
Such local neighbourhood centres can promote sustainable development by ensuring communities are well connected through pedestrian accessibility and through public transport reducing the need to travel by car. New facilities can play a role in the economic and physical regeneration of local communities and promotion of social interaction in support of building healthy communities.
