Retail hierarchy and local centres strategy

The plan promotes a retail hierarchy including city centre, district centres, and local centres to ensure residents have access to key facilities, local services, and employment while supporting sustainable development through pedestrian accessibility and reduced car dependency.

The exact locations and associated boundaries of the above hierarchy will be reviewed as part of the LPP. In the interim prior to the adoption of the LPP the existing draft BMAP boundaries will be used as follows: city centre, district centre, local centres.
