Principle for economic development outside zoned areas
Outside zoned employment areas, industrial and storage/distribution proposals should be assessed on individual merits, considering compatibility with adjacent uses, residential amenity, transportation, and normal planning criteria, consistent with environmental protection and sustainable development.
The overarching principle is to facilitate economic development in ways consistent with the protection of the environment and the principles of sustainable development. Outside zoned employment areas proposals for industrial use and storage and distribution use should be determined on their individual merits, having regard to points such as compatibility with adjacent and surrounding land uses, residential amenity, transportation and compliance with normal planning criteria.
