Ambitious economic growth and land allocation

Belfast City Council has an ambitious growth strategy set out in the Belfast Agenda which mirrors the aspirations of regional planning policy. An ambitious level of economic growth is essential to enable the city to compete with similar sized cities elsewhere in the UK in terms of attracting investment, creating jobs, driving the regional economy and competing in an ever increasing globalised market. This level of growth needs to be underpinned by a buoyant economy and the LDP has an important role in ensuring that an appropriate level of land is allocated to meet these growing needs.
