Policy Objectives for Community Infrastructure
The policy ensures existing community infrastructure is protected to meet city and regional needs, and adequate provision is made for new and improved facilities. Considerations include changing needs, presumption in favour of protection, new development impacts, and equality of access.
This policy aims to ensure that existing community infrastructure is protected to meet the needs of the city and, where appropriate, the needs of the wider region. It also aims to ensure that adequate provision is made for new and improved community infrastructure to meet needs throughout the plan period, including through consideration of contributions from new development. This policy will give consideration to: The changing needs and demands facing community infrastructure; Presumption in favour of protecting existing facilities and identified lands; New or increased needs arising from new development; Ensuring equality of access to community infrastructure facilities; and
