Policy BH3 – Areas of Townscape Character: Alterations and Extensions
Planning permission for alterations and extensions within ATCs will be granted where the criteria for new buildings are met, with additional requirements to retain or reinstate locally distinctive features and use sympathetic materials that respect surrounding buildings.
Alterations and extensions
Planning permission will be granted for alterations and extensions within an ATC where the criteria above are met, and particular regard is given to the following additional criteria:
e. Locally distinctive features are retained or reinstated where possible; and
f. Sympathetic materials are used that respect surrounding buildings.
