Policy BH1 – Listed buildings: New development affecting setting

New development affecting the setting of listed buildings Planning permission will be granted for new development affecting the setting of listed buildings where the following criteria are met: a. The development is sympathetic to the essential characteristic, scale, height, massing and alignment of the listed building by way of its scale, form, materials and detailing; b. The development does not result in the significant loss of key views of the listed building; c. The nature of the use proposed respects the character of the setting of the building; d. The development does not have a detrimental impact on the setting of the listed building; and e. The development has regard to relevant supplementary planning guidance.
