Design Assessment in Intensive Housing Areas
Proposals for HMOs and flats/apartments in intensive housing areas must be assessed against residential design requirements (RD1, RD2, RD3), with particular attention to local character, environmental quality, residential amenity, privacy, and scale and massing.
Proposals for HMOs and flats/apartments within intensive housing areas will still be carefully assessed against the relevant residential design requirements set out in policies RD1, RD2 and RD3. Local character, environmental quality and residential amenity, privacy of existing residents and scale and massing will continue to be particularly important considerations within intensive housing areas.
