Mixed Tenure Development for Affordable Housing

The SPPS directs planning authorities to use their powers to "contribute to an environment that is accessible to all and enhances opportunities for shared communities, has a higher standard of connectivity and supports the shared use of public realm". To help achieve these outcomes, affordable housing should be delivered in mixed tenure developments. As well as helping to promote community cohesion, this approach will create a feeling of belonging and contribute to the development of sustainable neighbourhoods.
