Managed Release of Housing Land and Monitoring
Housing delivery will be monitored against the projected rates to ensure a managed release of housing land in line with a 'plan, monitor and manage' approach, with monitoring critical to implementing the district's growth strategy over the 5-yearly plan review cycle to maintain a minimum 5-year supply of housing land.
The SPPS states that the LDP should provide for a "managed release of housing land, in line with a 'plan, monitor and manage' approach". Monitoring of housing delivery will therefore be critical to the implementation of the district's growth strategy. Figure 7.2 illustrates how the housing supply within policy HOU1 can be delivered over the plan period, in accordance with the indicative annual rates of delivery.
Although indicative, this will enable the effective monitoring of delivery in line with the required 5-yearly plan review cycle and ensuring the minimum 5 year supply of housing land.
