The inner city is characterized by high density residential development with opportunities to redevelop industrial sites for medium-high density residential uses in proximity to existing facilities and services.
The inner city is characterised by a predominance of high density residential development, often including established residential areas of terraced housing and social housing developments interspersed with industrial uses and commercial development. The changing economic climate and decline in traditional manufacturing has left a legacy of industrial sites that have potential to be redeveloped for medium-high density residential development in close proximity to existing facilities and services.
