Suitable bathroom layout with WC and standing-height washbasin

Diagram 6.8 shows the required dimensions and arrangement for an accessible bathroom that includes a water closet, standing-height washbasin, bath, and grab rails to facilitate independent use and transfers.

Diagram 6.8 Suitable bathroom layout incorporating a water closet and a standing height washbasin Key dimensions and features: - 1500 mm by 1500 mm wheelchair turning space - Horizontal grab rail: 150 mm, 600 mm, 200 mm spacing with 50-60 mm clearance between wall and grab rail - Vertical grab rail not less than 500 mm long - Not less than 400 mm from top of bath - Bath transfer seat - Not less than 75 mm or not more than 100 mm clearance - 140 mm to 160 mm height dimension - Gap clear of bath supports for hoist feet (if required) - Towel rail and mixer tap - Washbasin - Alarm pull cord locations shown - Horizontal grab rail may alternatively be partially cranked at not more than 13° to the horizontal - Not less than 480 mm vertical grab rail - Not less than 2500 mm and 2700 mm dimensions noted - 200 mm and 250 mm spacing dimensions Elevation and Plan views provided.
